Doctrine

Our doctrine is very simple, we belive the scripture in a literal form. Therefore, when searching the scriptures for the path of salvation we find four parts that our Lord Jesus Christ has laid out before us. This journey begins with the root scripture Acts 2:38. Three of the four parts are included in this scripture alone. Let's break down each section of this scripture.

The four parts are as follows and we will cover the first three with the root scripture.

  1. Repentance
  2. Baptism in Jesus' Name
  3. Infilling of the Holy Ghost
  4. Living a Holy Life
Repentance

We know that without repentance the path of salvation cannot be completed. The English soldiers use the word repent to indicate that the company should turn around, or turn their back, on what they are currently facing. Repentance is turning our back on the way we are currently living and letting the Lord know we want to do it a different way.

However, repentance cannot be attained unless we are truly remorseful for the things we have done. We can't just say we are sorry, we must desire to turn from our ways.

Baptism in Jesus' Name

Baptism is the next step in the path of salvation. When we are baptized we are buried in the blood of Jesus Christ so it can be applied to our lives. Baptism must be by full emersion, and it must be applied in the name of Jesus Christ. Without calling upon the name of Jesus Christ the baptism is in vain.

Infilling of the Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost is the next step in the path to salvation.  When we are baptized in the Spirit, or filled with the Holy Ghost, there is a fundamental change in our life.  God is now dwelling in us, and is there to comfort and lead us on to everlasting life.  He can now truly walk with us through our trials and tribulations, when we suffer He suffers and when we celebrate He celebrates.  There is no other feeling like this in the world!

Living a Holy Life

Living a holy life is the last and final step in the path to salvation.  Now that we have been buried and risen as new creatures in baptism, and have the comforter to walk with us through life, it's time to start applying the teachings of the Word of God to our life.  To make it in this "race" you must endure to the end.  It's not how fast you can run it, or how strong you are, it's how long will you hold on to the nail scarred hands that were held out to you for so long.  God would have it that all would be saved, but it's your choice; so count the cost, take up your cross, and follow Him with us!
